Tengakhat College is situated in Tengakhat about 30 KM east of Dibrugarh Town. The College was established in 1967 at the initiative of late Jogendra Nath Hazarika, x chief minister of Assam and yeoman service of the local people .The college was brought under the Deficit Grant in Aid system in 1986 and received UGC affiliation under 2 (f) and 12 (B) in 2007.The college was established with the objectives of imparting higher higher education to the students the of locality and surrounding villages and the tea gardens. The college was accredited” Grade B” by NAAC in December 2005.
